Anna McNeil - Co-Director, Legal
Anna is a sophomore at Yale, majoring in Classics and African American Studies. She is currently a student guide at the Yale Center for British Art, and in the summer of 2017, she worked as an intern in the Education Department at the Brooklyn Museum. In addition to co-founding and serving on the Executive Board of Engender, Anna was an Executive Board Member for Unite against Sexual Assault Yale (USAY), from January to September 2017. Anna is a devoted student of Classical Languages and Literatures, having studied Latin and Greek for 7 years before coming to Yale. She is also an active vocalist and is currently a member of the Yale Glee Club and the Yale Slavic Chorus and an incoming member of Whim ‘n Rhythm. Anna is a proud native of Brooklyn, New York.
Arese Uwuoruya - Co-Director, Legal
Arese, a native of New Haven, Connecticut, is a current sophomore at Yale University where she studies History of Art. In addition to working with Engender, she is currently employed in the Advancement Department of the Yale University Art Gallery, where she is involved with behind-the-scenes museum operations and functions. She has also been a tutor with Students of Salaam over a year. As a tutor, she works with local elementary, middle, and high schools in the greater New Haven area on tutoring ESL students. Arese also has professional proficiency French, and she spent the summer of 2017 in Paris taking courses on the the language and culture of France.
Gabriel Roy - Co-Director, Media
Gabriel is a first-year at Yale University who plans to major in Ethnicity, Race, & Migration. He is interested in the intersection of race and sexuality, particularly in the context of dictatorial regimes and populist movements in postcolonial Latin America. Previously, Gabriel has held internships in his home state of Delaware with U.S. Senator Chris Coons and State Senator Bryan Townsend. Through a program at his high school, he had the opportunity to conduct ethnographic research in Los Angeles on sexual identity among Oaxaca’s muxe third-gender indigenous Zapotecs. At Yale, Gabriel writes for The Politic and tutors a Syrian refugee family in English in partnership with St. Thomas More.
Jojo Attal - Co-Director, Community Partnerships
Jojo is a first-year at Yale, intending to major in Political Science and Literature. She is interested in community organizing and has previously held internships with the Riders Alliance and the Snake River Alliance, public policy advocacy organizations. In these roles, she lead community outreach and research projects on subsidized subway fares in New York City and clean water access in Boise, Idaho. In her hometown of Brooklyn, New York, she has volunteered as a music teacher with the Horizons program in the summer of 2016 and as an organizing volunteer at Hillary for America’s Headquarters over the course of the 2016 election cycle.
Natalie Schultz-Henry - Co-Director, Digital
Natalie is a rising senior at Yale, where she majors in Computing and the Arts. She co-founded Engender in 2016 and advised the group while working as a graphic designer for Compass Real Estate in Brooklyn during the 2016-2017 academic year. She has completed coursework in graphic design at Parsons School of Design in New York City and has previously performed publication and merchandise design for The Yale Herald and the Whaling Crew among other student organizations. She is interested in pursuing a career at the intersection of design, technology, journalism and social justice. Natalie grew up in Connecticut and Los Angeles, California.
Ry Walker - Co-Director, Policy
Ry is a sophomore at Yale, majoring in Astrophysics and African American Studies. She is currently an intern with the History Keepers Program where she researches Yale University's historic ties to slavery and the slave trade. Ry spent the summer of 2017 continuing her research for that program at the Gilder Lehrman Center for the Study of Slavery, Resistance, and Abolition. In addition to co-founding and serving on the Executive Board of engender, Ry works as a Recruitment Coordinator for Yale Undergraduate Admissions and is a volunteer with the Health Center Advocacy Program at the New Haven Planned Parenthood Health Center. Ry is from Brooklyn, New York.

Will McGrew - Legal and Policy Advisor
Will is a member of the Yale Class of 2018 and currently works as a Research Assistant at the Washington Center for Equitable Growth. He majored in Economics and Political Science with a focus on inequality and segregation by gender, race, and class. He was a Research Assistant at Yale Law School during his junior and senior years. Previously, he was a Director’s Fellow and Dahl Research Scholar at the Yale Institution for Social and Policy Studies where he did research on the effects of gender segregation on female labor force participation and economic inequality. He has previously produced research and writing for the Washington Center for Equitable Growth, Hillary for America, the Clinton Foundation, Planned Parenthood Louisiana, and former US Senator Mary Landrieu. Will speaks French, Spanish, and Arabic, and before coming to Yale, he received scholarships to study abroad in Jordan, Argentina, and Morocco. Will was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana.
